Disclosure: I’m an affiliate for CBPC, so I may earn a commission if you join or upgrade through my link at no additional cost. That doesn’t change what I say below, and you never have to buy anything to read this or join the free level.

If you search for “make money online” programs, you’ll find plenty that promise a lot and deliver very little. So when I looked at the ClickBank Profit Club (CBPC), I wanted to know one thing: is it what it says it is?

Here’s my plain-English review, including what’s free, what costs extra, and who it isn’t for.

What is CBPC?

CBPC is an affiliate marketing program created by John Thornhill. “Affiliate marketing” simply means you earn a commission when someone buys something through your special link.

According to CBPC, it gives members a funnel (a set of pages that takes a visitor from interest to joining) that’s built, branded and hosted for you, leads that go to your own email list, several ways to earn commissions, and live coaching and support.

What you get on the free level

You can join CBPC for free. The free level is called Team, and its upgrade page shows $0. No credit card is needed to join, according to its join page. CBPC lists these as included on Team:

  • a done-for-you membership site
  • automated follow-up email promotions
  • live coaching

When you log in, the dashboard also has orientation, the member essentials, promo tools, setup videos, and a link to its community group.

What the paid level adds (and what it costs)

CBPC’s upgrade page showed a paid level called VIP at $67 a month, with an annual option that it says saves money. According to CBPC, VIP adds:

  • additional tools
  • access to the live training archive
  • advanced training and coaching workshops
  • priority support
  • early access to new offers
  • done-for-you member recruitment
  • higher commission rates

Other costs to know about: you’ll need an email service such as AWeber to run your own list, billed separately, and a ClickBank account to be paid commissions. Paid traffic is optional and costs extra.

How the commissions work

CBPC pays you a percentage of what the people you refer buy, and the percentage depends on your level. These are the rates its upgrade page showed:

Commission onTeam (free)VIP
Upsell 150%100%
Upsell 240%75%
Upgrade sales50%75%
Additional products and tools30%50%
Premium events, challenges and coaching5%20%
Third-party offers5%10%
Done-for-you services5%20%

(An “upsell” is an extra offer a buyer sees after joining.)

These are rates, not earnings. A higher rate only helps if you make sales, and a higher level costs more.

What I like

  • You can start free. There’s no card needed to look around and use the basics.
  • The setup is done for you. The funnel and follow-up emails are provided, so you aren’t building from scratch.
  • There’s a plan. CBPC lays out a 30-day action plan for new members, with clear first steps.
  • You own the list. According to CBPC, leads go to your email list, not the vendor’s.

What to watch out for

  • It isn’t a get-rich-quick scheme, and no honest program is. Most people who earn online take months, not days, and some never do.
  • Traffic is still your job. The funnel and emails are provided, but nobody sends visitors for you. Having a link isn’t the same as having an audience.
  • The extras cost real money. Be sure you can afford the upgrade, the email service and any advertising before you decide.
  • Be careful with the numbers. CBPC shows total sales and a Hall of Fame of top members. That shows the top performers, not typical results, so don’t use it to guess what you’ll earn. Sales are also not the same as what members take home.

Who CBPC is for (and who it isn’t)

CBPC is probably a good fit if you:

  • are willing to learn and follow a process
  • can put in regular time each week
  • are prepared to build an email list and find your own traffic

CBPC is probably not for you if you:

  • expect results with no effort
  • want guaranteed income
  • aren’t willing to spend anything on upgrades, email tools or traffic

So, is CBPC legit?

From what I can see, CBPC is a real program with a working free level, a dashboard, training and coaching you can use today. That’s the part I can check for myself.

What I can’t do is promise you’ll earn money, and neither can anyone else. Your results depend on your effort, your skills and the time you put in.

My advice: start on the free level, go through the orientation and the 30-day plan, and only think about upgrading once you’ve used what you get for free and know why you want more.
